My top 5 skate videos

These are 5 of my most favorite skate videos, the ones that have influenced me most and that got me into skateboarding.

LurkNYC

Pat Hoblin, lurknycFirst, I’ll start with LurkNYC, now this isnt just one video or film, but a whole youtube skate team who consistently upload videos of their group skating through New York City.

Yeah Right!

Yeah Right! The next video I’ll put here is Girl’s “Yeah Right!” which is I’m pretty sure the first skate video i ever watched all the way through, and has a great usage of slo-mo, and none of the hour and eleven minutes feels boring, which I’m sure is hard to do.

Fully Flared

Fully FlaredIm sure this next video is in everyones list, but there is a reason for that. Lakai’s video “Fully Flared” has an amazing use of special effects and explosions and is basically a skateboarding action film, and what every imaginative little kid envisions skateboarding to be. It took over 4 years to be made, and also won Transworlds video of the year award in 2007.

High ‘n’ Dry

Thrasher high n dryThrashers “High ‘n’ Dry” isnt a full length video like everything else so far, but it is just super fun to watch, and shows how amazing vert can be, especially if its at a whole water park.

Baker 3

Baker 3 is an amazing video and was probably the one to influence my choice of choosing baker as my first deck.

The Travis Scott Inside Theory

Travis Scott has implied several times that he is inside, and does not seem like he plans on coming back inside but his hooligan friend 21 savage repetitively tries to get him to come out side.

Lets start with Travis’ breakout (not out of the house) song “Antidote” he says “Don’t you open up that window, Don’t you let out that antidote” implying that he is inside a room with a window, but he doesn’t want it opened.

Then next in his song with his hooligan friend 21 savage ironically named “Outside” he claims that all his friends are outside and not coming inside with him and they want him to come out but he refuses “Wont you come out with the team” but he just asks them why they’re sleeping on him. His “friend” 21 savage who is the leader of the outside hooligans, keeps trying to coax Travis to come outside by saying that he is with his female but this just makes Travis sad and continue to stay in.

It has now been 3 years of Travis being inside and he is once again with hooligan 21 savage in “NC-17” who continues to stay outside. Travis states “we do not do playgrounds” which i can only assume is because playgrounds are in fact outside and he is not. 21 now states “Dont you come outside” and claims they are participating in gang activity, so I guess savage has finally given up on getting Travis to come outside after 3 years.

In “5% tint” Travis complains about someone coming through his window, which he clearly does not want because that would let out the antidote which is surprisingly still inside with him. But then later on in “HOUSTONFORNICATION” he changes his mind and opens the window so he can get some ventilation, implying that travis has been inside for 3 years with the same air. He also claims he does not feel safe inside his house because the police are close to him and his house feels like a prison, so this might be close to the end of Travis’ inside legacy.

But later Travis reveals he is still inside with his song “Highest in the Room” because he is inside a room. He says several times that he is the “highest in the room” meaning that he’s inside, but he also presents his wish to get outside by saying “hope I make it out of here” so maybe Travis Scott is being held captive??

In conclusion I believe that although Travis does not want to go outside with the biggest hooligan 21 Savage and participate in gang activity, he probably would like to get outside and he may be being held captive and we should try to save him!!

The first 10 songs to come in my shuffle and what they say about me.

I a white boy hiphop “enthusiast” went into my newest Spotify playlist of 100 hours, lets see the first 10 songs that come up and what I have to say about them or what they can say about me.

Netlix & Dusse by Smino
Im not sure what this could say about me, I dont have a pizza on the way and I dont even have netflix but uhhhh, Smino was my first concert, I went to see him at the U of I but it was kinda lame because no one there really knew his music since it was a cheap college show on a tuesday night.

Phantom by Chester Watson

I really enjoy my wavy lyrical rap. Earl Sweatshirt is one of my favorite artists and Chester is just wavier upbeat Earl.

4th Dimension by kids see ghosts

Kanye and Kid Cudi are two of our generations goats, and this song is just great, like it samples a christmas song and it doesnt even sound like it, thats amazing.

Money Longer – Lil Uzi Vert

This probably shows I’m a bandwagoner or something like that but Uzi is easily in my top 5 artists so thats not the case, but it do not matter.

Gold – Brockhampton

My spotify shuffle is not helping me seem like im not on every bandwagon in hiphop but again Brockhampton is one of my favorite artists, brocks ability to switch his flow and sound so much several times in each song is amazing.

Finger Roll – 6 dogs

6 dogs is a gift and hi-hats and heartaches easily tops 808s and heartbreaks

Live up to my name – Bakanotnice

This song really shines how legendary drake is because he wrote and produced a hit song for his bodyguard, thats the type of thing only Canadians are nice enough to do.

Through the late night – Travis Scott ft Kid Cudi

Day n nite 2, amazing song and amazing lyricism from both artists “stroke my cactus” line of the century

I thought about killing you – Kanye

this shows absolutely nothing about me or my personality do not worry do not look in to this its okay. The most beautiful thoughts are always besides the darkest Mhm—mhm—mhm—mhm—mhm—mhm—mhm—mhm—mhmm

Chanel – Frank Ocean
